Please note that five inset days have already been set for the next school year. They are from Monday 6 September through to Friday 10 September 2010. This means that pupils will not return to school until Monday 13th September. These days are set aside for an intensive programme of staff training. One more inset day will be allocated at some point throughout the year and we will notify you when this is chosen. In due course we will be updating the "Latest Calendar" and "Dates for your Diary" push-buttons that you see on the on the right hand side of the page.

Our school, along with 2,000 others, entered the Speaker’s School Council Awards. Even though we did not make the final, please CLICK HERE to see the certificate that we received commending us, and in the words of the Speaker’s School Council Awards………

"We have been extremely impressed by the high standards achieved by all the school councils and our judges left that your project in particular deserved special recognition for its achievements. This certificate recognises your fantastic entry into the awards and celebrates the achievements of Ashgate Croft School."

Some of our parents/carers completed a questionnaire regarding out of school childcare activities. Unfortunately this time we have not been successful.

The school has now achieved the Bronze level award from Food for Life.

BRONZE schools serve fresh, seasonal school meals prepared by a well-trained school cook. Pupils and parents are involved in planning improvements to school menus and the dining experience via a school nutrition action group, boosting school meal take-up. Every pupil has the opportunity to visit a farm during his or her time at school, and opportunities are given for cooking and food growing activity.
